About Monairo
Product and editorial information reviewed 24 October 2026
Monairo is a shared budget and expense tracker for couples and households on iPhone and Android. This website and its guides are published by the Monairo team.
Our focus is the everyday purchase: recording it, checking its effect on a budget, and keeping a shared household spending picture up to date. You can use a shared ledger while keeping separate bank accounts.
What the app does
- Capture spending: enter an expense by voice, typing or receipt capture, then review the proposed details.
- Plan together: paid budgets and household sharing help partners track spending against agreed limits.
- Choose your inputs: capture expenses without a bank connection, import OFX/CSV statements, or connect a supported UK/EU institution where eligible.
Free capture allows up to three entries a day. Budgets, analytics, goals, sharing and bank sync need a paid plan. Prices and trial eligibility depend on your country and store; see plans and support.
Monairo does not block card payments, transfer money between partners or cancel third-party subscriptions for you. There is no active US bank sync. Manual entries can be saved on the device after setup, while live sharing and bank updates need connectivity. Speech recognition also depends on the device, language and speech service.
How we write guides and comparisons
We publish product education and app-selection guides. We make Monairo, so our comparisons are affiliated editorial content. A recommendation on this site is not an independent award or a substitute for trying the workflow that matters to you.
- Start with a reader task. We separate recording expenses, household budgeting, bill splitting, subscription tracking and cancellation because they solve different problems.
- Use identifiable sources. Competitor claims are checked against official product, pricing, support or store pages. Articles link those sources and show their review date.
- State the limits. We distinguish free downloads, ongoing free plans, trials, paid features, supported countries and bank coverage. An app's availability on a phone does not prove support for every bank.
- Describe the evidence honestly. A source-reviewed comparison is not a hands-on benchmark. Store screenshots are identified as store material. Hypothetical examples are labeled; their figures are not customer results or promised savings.
- Disclose AI assistance. Our content can be prepared with AI assistance. Product claims still need supporting evidence, and assistance does not turn an untested claim into a verified result.
When a guide includes a measured test, it should explain the task, device or service, conditions and limitations. We do not invent user ratings, savings results or professional credentials. An app's strongest use case can differ from Monairo's, and our comparisons should make that choice clear.
These guides help you use and choose software. They do not provide personalized investment, credit, tax or legal advice.
